Key benefits of Canine Craving dehydrated duck neck for dogs

Key benefits of Dehydrated Duck Neck

🦆 Hypo-allergenic protein

Duck is a protein most Indian dogs haven't had, so it suits dogs who don't do well on chicken. If your dog has a diagnosed food allergy, check with your vet first.

🦴 A proper chew

Your dog has to work through the meat and the small neck bones, so it slows down instead of gulping. Handy on monsoon days when walks get cut short.

🦷 Helps keep teeth clean

Chewing through the neck gives your dog's teeth a natural scrub. A good add-on to brushing, not a replacement for it.

💪 Cartilage for joints

A duck neck has cartilage between its small bones, a natural source of glucosamine, which contributes to joint comfort and mobility. It's a chew, not a replacement for a dedicated joint supplement.

🌿 Single ingredient, nothing artificial

Just dehydrated duck neck. No grains, and no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Ingredients of Dehydrated Duck Neck

Duck neck 100%.

Duck neck

  • What it is: a dehydrated duck neck, with meat, cartilage and small neck bones.
  • Why it's good for your dog: a protein most Indian dogs haven't had, plus cartilage that naturally contains glucosamine.
  • Who should avoid it: dogs with a known duck allergy, and dogs who swallow chews whole.

No grains, and no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Each pack contains 1 piece.

Safety note: Never give your dog cooked bones from the kitchen. Cooked bones turn brittle and can splinter. Always supervise your dog with this chew and take away small leftover pieces.

Nutritional Value of Dehydrated Duck Neck

Approximate nutrition

  • Crude protein: about 55–60%
  • Crude fat: about 13–26%
  • Crude ash: about 5–20%
  • Crude fibre: about 1%
  • Moisture: under 12%

These are approximate values, based on published analyses of similar dried duck neck chews. They are not a lab analysis of this product, and they vary with size and batch.

What this means for your dog

Duck necks are rich in protein, with a moderate amount of fat, so count the neck within your dog's daily food. The neck bones add minerals, which is why the ash can be high. Treats should stay under 10% of what your dog eats in a day.

Safety standards & test results

Lab test results for this product are awaited. We'll share them here as soon as they're in.

How to use the product

🦴 How to give it to your dog

  • 🍖 Give it as a chew, not as a meal.
  • 👀 Let your dog chew in a calm spot and stay nearby. Never leave your dog alone with a chew.
  • 🗑️ Take away small leftover pieces.
  • 💧 Keep fresh water within reach.

🐾 Giving it for the first time?

  • 1️⃣ Day 1: give one piece in a calm, quiet spot. Don't introduce any other new food on day 1 or 2.
  • 2️⃣ Day 2: no chew today. Watch for any tummy upset.
  • 3️⃣ Day 3 onwards: if all is well, move to the daily amount below.

⚖️ Daily amount

Up to one piece a day, as recommended by Canine Craving. Many dogs do well with one every few days.

Keep all treats under 10% of your dog's daily food. If your dog eats 200 g of food a day, that is less than 20 g of treats. For small dogs, a whole neck can be more than that, so give it a few times a week instead.

🐶 For puppies

Suitable for puppies 4 months and older. Keep sessions short and stay with your puppy throughout.

📦 How to store

Keep the neck sealed in the vacuum pack, in the fridge if you can, or in a cool, dark, dry place. Once opened, move it to an airtight container or zip pouch with the gel pack, refrigerate if possible, and use within 15 days.

FAQs

Are duck necks safe for dogs?

Yes, when you supervise. Dehydrated duck necks are a common natural chew. Never give your dog cooked bones from the kitchen, which turn brittle and can splinter, and take away small leftover pieces.

Can puppies have duck necks?

Yes, from 4 months. Keep the first sessions short and stay with your puppy throughout. Follow the day 1 to day 3 steps above.

My dog is allergic to chicken. Can he have duck necks?

Often, yes. Duck is a different protein from chicken, and many dogs who react to chicken do well on duck. If your dog has a diagnosed allergy, check with your vet, then start with the day 1 to day 3 steps above.

How often can I give my dog a duck neck?

Up to one piece a day, as Canine Craving recommends, though many dogs do well with one every few days. For small dogs, a few times a week is better, since treats should stay under 10% of what your dog eats in a day.

Duck neck or duck wings: which should I pick?

Both are duck, so both suit dogs who don't do well on chicken. Pick the duck neck for one longer chew. Pick our duck wings if you'd like two pieces in a pack.
