Product Specifications

Nutritional value of chicken sliced tenders for dogs: 47% protein

Key benefits of Chicken Sliced Tenders

🍗 90% chicken breast

Sliced from chicken breast, a protein most dogs already know. The other 10% holds the slices together and keeps them soft.

💪 47% protein, 3% fat

Almost half of every slice is protein, and it's very lean. Easy to fit into your dog's daily food, even on days you train a lot.

🎯 Soft and tearable

Tear a slice into small bites, so one slice goes a long way in a training session.

🌾 Grain-free, nothing artificial

No grains or gluten, no added salt or sugar, and no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. The flavour comes from the chicken.

🧪 3rd party lab tested

A 3rd party lab found no detectable lead, mercury, cadmium or arsenic, and no Salmonella, in the tested sample. Full results below.

Ingredients of Chicken Sliced Tenders

Chicken 90%, potato starch 6%, vegetable protein 2%, glycerin 2%.

Full transparency: every ingredient is named with its exact share, and together they add up to 100%. No catch-all terms like "by-products" or "minerals".

90% is chicken breast. It is not a single-ingredient treat: the other 10% holds the slices together and keeps them soft.

Chicken breast (90%)

  • What it is: lean white meat, and the main ingredient in every slice.
  • Why it's good for your dog: high-quality protein that supports lean muscle, in a taste most dogs already know.
  • Who should avoid it: dogs with a known chicken allergy.

Potato starch (6%)

  • What it is: starch from potatoes, used to bind the slices together.
  • Is it OK for dogs? Yes. It's grain-free and widely used in dog food and treats.
  • Who should avoid it: diabetic dogs, unless your vet agrees, since starch adds carbohydrate.

Vegetable protein (2%)

  • What it is: protein from plants, used in a small amount to help hold the treat together.
  • Is it OK for dogs? Yes. Plant proteins are common in dog food and safe for most dogs.
  • Who should avoid it: dogs with a known allergy to soy or other plant proteins.

Vegetable glycerin (2%)

  • What it is: a clear, slightly sweet liquid made from palm oil. It keeps the treat soft and helps prevent mould.
  • Is it OK for dogs? Yes. Food-grade glycerin is widely used in dog treats and is considered safe.
  • Who should avoid it: diabetic dogs, unless your vet agrees.

No grains, no added salt or sugar, and no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Each pack contains 85 g of slices.

What this means for your dog

Almost half of each slice is protein, and at 3% fat it's as lean as our duck sliced jerky. Still count the slices within your dog's daily food: treats should stay under 10% of what your dog eats in a day.

How to use the product

🦴 How to give it to your dog

  • 🎯 Give it as a training reward or an everyday treat, not as a meal.
  • 🤏 Tear a slice into small bites, so you can reward often without overfeeding.
  • 👀 Stay nearby while your dog eats, especially the first few times.
  • 💧 Keep fresh water within reach.

🐾 Giving it for the first time?

Start with half a slice a day, the smallest amount in the feeding guide, for the first two days and watch for any tummy upset or itching. If all is well, move to the daily amount below.

⚖️ Daily feeding guide

As recommended by Jolly Pawps.

1–10 kg: ½ to 4 pieces
10–20 kg: 4 to 9 pieces
20–30 kg: 9 to 14 pieces
Above 30 kg: 14 to 18 pieces

Keep all treats under 10% of your dog's daily food. If your dog eats 200 g of food a day, that is less than 20 g of treats.

🐶 For puppies

Suitable for puppies 4 months and older. Tear the slices into small pieces and stay with your puppy while they eat.

📦 How to store

Keep the pack sealed in a cool, dry place. Shelf life is 18 months; check the best-before date on the pack.

Is chicken jerky safe for dogs?

Yes, when it's made from real meat and tested. A 3rd party lab found no detectable lead, mercury, cadmium or arsenic, and no Salmonella, in the tested sample of this recipe. The full report is in the safety section above.

Can puppies have chicken tenders?

Yes, from 4 months. Tear the slices into small pieces and stay with your puppy while they eat. Start with a little and watch for any tummy upset.

How many chicken tenders can I give my dog in a day?

It depends on your dog's weight: ½ to 4 pieces up to 10 kg, 4 to 9 for 10–20 kg, 9 to 14 for 20–30 kg, and 14 to 18 above 30 kg. Count them within your dog's daily food, since treats should stay under 10% of what your dog eats in a day.

Chicken sliced tenders or chicken cubes with turkey: which should I pick?
