Product Specifications

Nutritional value of duck sliced jerky for dogs: 47% protein

Key benefits of Duck Sliced Jerky

🦆 One meat: duck

92% duck breast, with no chicken or other meat. For most Indian dogs, duck is a novel protein, one they haven't eaten before, so it's useful for rotating proteins or for dogs who don't do well on chicken. If your dog has a diagnosed food allergy, check with your vet first.

💪 47% protein, 3% fat

Almost half of every slice is protein, and it's very lean. Easy to fit into your dog's daily food, even on days you train a lot.

🎯 Soft and tearable

Tear a slice into small bites, so one slice goes a long way in a training session.

🌾 Grain-free, nothing artificial

No grains or gluten, no added salt or sugar, and no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. The flavour comes from the duck.

🧪 3rd party lab tested

A 3rd party lab found no detectable lead, mercury, cadmium or arsenic, and no Salmonella, in the tested sample. Full results below.

Ingredients of Duck Sliced Jerky

Duck 92%, potato starch 4%, vegetable protein 2%, glycerin 2%.

Full transparency: every ingredient is named with its exact share, and together they add up to 100%. No catch-all terms like "by-products" or "minerals".

92% is duck breast. It is not a single-ingredient treat: the other 8% holds the slices together and keeps them soft.

Duck breast (92%)

  • What it is: lean duck meat, and the main ingredient in every slice.
  • Why it's good for your dog: high-quality protein that supports lean muscle, and a good option for dogs who don't do well on chicken.
  • Who should avoid it: dogs with a known duck allergy.

Potato starch (4%)

  • What it is: starch from potatoes, used to bind the slices together.
  • Is it OK for dogs? Yes. It's grain-free and widely used in dog food and treats.
  • Who should avoid it: diabetic dogs, unless your vet agrees, since starch adds carbohydrate.

Vegetable protein (2%)

  • What it is: protein from plants, used in a small amount to help hold the treat together.
  • Is it OK for dogs? Yes. Plant proteins are common in dog food and safe for most dogs.
  • Who should avoid it: dogs with a known allergy to soy or other plant proteins.

Vegetable glycerin (2%)

  • What it is: a clear, slightly sweet liquid made from palm oil. It keeps the treat soft and helps prevent mould.
  • Is it OK for dogs? Yes. Food-grade glycerin is widely used in dog treats and is considered safe.
  • Who should avoid it: diabetic dogs, unless your vet agrees.

No chicken, no grains, no added salt or sugar, and no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Each pack contains 85 g of slices.

What this means for your dog

Almost half of each slice is protein, and at 3% fat it's as lean as our chicken sliced tenders. Still count the slices within your dog's daily food: treats should stay under 10% of what your dog eats in a day.

How to use the product

🦴 How to give it to your dog

  • 🎯 Give it as a training reward or an everyday treat, not as a meal.
  • 🤏 Tear a slice into small bites, so you can reward often without overfeeding.
  • 👀 Stay nearby while your dog eats, especially the first few times.
  • 💧 Keep fresh water within reach.

🐾 Giving it for the first time?

Start with half a slice a day, the smallest amount in the feeding guide, for the first two days and watch for any tummy upset or itching. If all is well, move to the daily amount below.

⚖️ Daily feeding guide

As recommended by Jolly Pawps.

1–10 kg: ½ to 2 pieces
10–20 kg: 2 to 4 pieces
20–30 kg: 4 to 6 pieces
Above 30 kg: 6 to 7 pieces

Keep all treats under 10% of your dog's daily food. If your dog eats 200 g of food a day, that is less than 20 g of treats.

🐶 For puppies

Suitable for puppies 4 months and older. Tear the slices into small pieces and stay with your puppy while they eat.

📦 How to store

Keep the pack sealed in a cool, dry place. Shelf life is 18 months; check the best-before date on the pack.

FAQs

Are duck treats good for dogs?

Yes, as a treat. Duck breast is a lean protein, and these slices are 47% protein with only 3% fat. For most Indian dogs it's also a novel protein, which makes it useful for rotating proteins or when chicken doesn't suit your dog.

Is this treat chicken-free?

Yes. The ingredients are duck (92%), potato starch, vegetable protein and glycerin, with no chicken. If your dog has a diagnosed allergy, check with your vet first.

Can puppies have duck jerky?

Yes, from 4 months. Tear the slices into small pieces and stay with your puppy while they eat. Start with a little and watch for any tummy upset.

Can I give duck jerky on an elimination diet?

Only if your vet agrees. Duck is the only meat, but the slices also contain potato starch, vegetable protein and glycerin, so it isn't a single-ingredient treat. If your vet wants duck and nothing else, our Canine Craving duck wings are just duck.

Duck sliced jerky or duck squares with lamb: which should I pick?

Both are chicken-free. Pick the jerky if you want duck as the only meat, for example when you're introducing a new protein; it's also the leaner one, at 3% fat. Pick the duck squares with lamb for ready-made bites with a little lamb, at 4% fat. Both are 47% protein and come in 85 g packs.
